The Church?

So lepers all
We shall become
Without the Spirit
Of the Son.

Feel not the pain
Of one who falls,
But rest in peace
Behind our walls.

Soon blindness comes
As splinters hide
Within our eyes
The sin of pride.

Moved not to grief,
Our hearts of stone,
As others cry,
Are left alone.

We have not love
But words to give
“Just trust in Him
And then you’ll live.”

So we who are
His hands and feet
Remain aloof,
Our souls to keep.

So blind to wounds
We cannot feel;
Decay soon spreads,
The “Body” ill.

Have mercy, Lord,
Come cleanse the sin
That’s left us blind,
Decayed within.

The fear of pain
That’s left us cold,
Cleanse from our souls
And make us bold.

Bring healing from
Your hand above,
Your sense of touch,
Your heart, Your love.

Your “Body” cleanse
Now through and through
So we may be
As one in You.

Connected by
The Spirit’s power,
All one in Christ
Our finest hour!

Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
– Ephesians 4:15-16
